These hand printed flags come from the GuChuSum Movement for Tibet which is staffed mostly by former political prisoners from Tibet. The income they derive from these products helps them to assist current and past political prisoners and to provide education about the human rights situation in Tibet. The origin of printing prayer flags in Tibet is said to date back to the 11th century. The hanging of prayer flags is thought to dispel danger and promote good fortune. Hand made in Nepal.
